The Ironman Triathlon. The very words conjure up images of a frenetic, heart-pounding swim start, muscle searing hill climbs on finely tuned tri-bikes and the unforgiving, relentless marathon. You first saw it on T.V. or went to support a friend or relative in their attempt. Possibly you were a volunteer. Ultimately, you were captivated by the human drama and the courage displayed by the participants. It moved you.
Since its infancy in Hawaii, the Ironman spirit has beckoned people from all walks of life and from every corner of the earth. It called to them. It called to you. It called to me. For lack of a better word, we were "IRONSTRUCK". It lured us and said--"come--come and show me--show me what you are made of."
Something drew you to this site. Perhaps you are a coach, a pro-triathlete, or an age-grouper who has experienced the challenge of this amazing race. Regardless, you are all welcome. However, I created this site in the hopes of creating an environment for those who were "IRONSTRUCK" and face this ultimate challenge for the first time.
So read on and I will tell you a bit about myself and why I feel I can help you capture your dream and put the title "Ironman" in front of your name. I hope you visit often. I will accomplish my goal if each of you take away just one bit of information that helps you cross the finish line of the Ironman Triathlon.
Remember that really living and getting the most from life often means striving for goals you thought were beyond you. In your mind you might feel the biggest challenge seems to be facing the risk of failure.
The real failure in life is not trying and falling short, but rather not believing in ourselves enough to even try in the first place. Give yourself a chance and one day you will be amazed at just how much you are capable of on so many levels.
"A challenging journey is not without risks. Often we feel we can go no further, we can do no more, and that one more step is impossible. In that one moment we face the abyss, the ultimate challenge of mind, body, and spirit and discover an inner strength we never new existed and in a glorious revelation realize that our lives have changed forever."
